Processing of SnO<sub>2</sub>/ZnO Heterostructure by the Sol-Gel Technique for Photocatalytic Applications

Abstract The construction of a SnO 2 and ZnO thin film heterostructure is an efficient way to improve the photocatalytic properties ZnO. However, current techniques produce it, for instance, chemical physical vapor deposition are expensive therefore not affordable everyone. Several efforts have been made in order obtain high quality films with lower cost using sol-gel base techniques. aim this work process low-cost heterostructures supported on glass. were deposited by spin coating method. samples obtained characterized XRD, SEM, UV-Vis FTIR. exhibits homogeneous size nanoparticles (10~50 nm) that conform surface uniform submicronic thickness. High values optical transmission &gt;80% measured range (380-740 nm). band gap E g 3.25 3.69 eV from Tauc’s plot.
